Primo pizza & salads but that's all,. I think the Regina Pizza (available at Polcari's) is the best in the Merrimack Valley & I've tried most of them....it is also one of the most expensive so this is why we don't order it every week, also don't want to deal with the poor service all the time. Antipasto Platter with Italian cold cuts, cheeses, a few olives, is okay and can make a decent, light dinner if you also ask for a loaf of the bread. Service at this location can be real hit or miss - Pizza in the brick oven can come out burned around the edges, crust. I ask when ordering that they watch that - I've also had ordered mixed up (especially take out orders.) They are corrected but sometimes the lead time for a pizza is up to an hour when it's busy. They sometimes appear understaffed, at least in the kitchen/pizza oven area. Don't count on the drive up "car/curb" service either. Spots are usually taken by dine in customers. We suffer through the common lack of customer service for the tasty pizza. We don't like the pasta sauces at all....and the bar is so tiny, it's kind of humorous.
Not Good. We were very disappointed with Polcaris last night. The Mussles marinara was such a let down, the pasta was over cooked, it was not at all spicy (as stated in the menu), the mussels had a funny taste to them. The kids pizza meal was big enough for 3 kids but was never told when we ordered one for each of our children. I ended up eating some of my sons pizza because my meal was so bad. After telling the waitress that I didn't like my meal, she offered to bring spicier sauce but it didn't arrive for another 30 minutes. At that point everyone was ready to go. Nothing was ever taken off the bill nor were we compensated with anything else.
Best place EVER!. We came into Salem from Dallas looking for a place to have lunch. We happened to spot Polcare's Restaurant and went in. From the start the place looked and smelled great! I knew it was a winner! Our waitress, Sylvia, was very helpful, making suggestions since I am a vegetarian. The food she brought was SUPERB-best Italian food ever!! The manager also stopped by to check on us. His name is Ritchie, and he made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He has a wonderful personality that would make you come back time after time. Between Ritchie and the food, this place is AWESOME! Catherine and Jesse Johnson, Dallas
AWESOME. i would definitly eat here.this place has good prices, even better food, and a staff that is second to none.this is one of the my top five (probally number 2 for food) but definitly number one for staff. if i could i would eat their on a regular basis.i have been to this one in salem,nh 6 times. the service is great, the staff is great.and overall probally my number one place to eat in all of newengland.AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stick to pizza and salad and skip the rest of the menu. Every - single - dish - is - bland!!! Period. Not at all what you would expect at those prices and after reading the descriptions in the menu. After several tries, we've given up on the dinner menu and will only go there for pizza if at all.
A Really Good Time. I've been going to Polcari's on Friday nights for years. Pizza's the best around, hands down. Last couple of months Dan Fallon has been singing there. He's hilarious, he makes you have a great time, does requests, really good stuff. When you go, order the Seafood Fra Diavalo, it's awesome. Lotta food, good bread. Good Music. Love this place.
Polcari's. The St. Anthony's pizza is probably the best white pizza my wife and I have ever had. The prices may be a bit high for a local chain. On the flip side, the food is excellent and portions are large.
