I had to go to another salon to correct the mistakes my poor hair recieved at this salon. The color job had spots missing, and my instructions were ignored and replaced by my hairstylists ideas of a good hair cut. I wont mention any names but professionality was also at an all time low at this salon. I'd heard pretty good things *and the occasional vehement bad thing* and figured the bad reviews were just super picky ladies who can't be satisfied with hair cuts no matter what. We all know they exsist. I may have been one of the unlucky ones. Maybe it was a bad day for my hair dresser. Maybe the light was bad? All I can say is that the job was not well done and the attitudes of the workers showed a lack of good management skills in my opinion. After my fix I spoke to friends and of course the second stylist *who obviously wanted to know who had done this to my hair!* And I heard talk of an incredibly obsessive owner who is super controlling and sometimes rude and uncaring to her employees (no wonder there wasn't a lot of care taken in the work!) Thats utterly disgusting and a horrible work ethic. That among all the other things stated sums up why I wouldn't go back again. Not if I was paid. I guess I'd say 'enter at your own risk.'

I have been getting my hair cut at Head Games for the past six years. I love entering the light filled and well appointed salon. The energy within the space feels wonderful and the stylists seem so happy that they are practically whistling while they work. Adding even more to the sweet and comfortable vibe is Mona, the chocolate lab, who will rise up from napping on the gleaming wood floors to greet you with a calmly wagging tail. The ambiance at Head Games, however, is just a little perk compared to the incredible customer service and amazing hair cuts I have received from Kate and Alanna. Almost every time I leave the salon I find myself walking through downtown Portland feeling like a supermodel. On one occasion, I agreed to let Alanna try out a new technique and ended up hating it. I called to tell her how I felt and she immediately made an appointment for me to return to have her fix it - free of charge. The next day, when I went in, she apologized profusely, took her time trying to undue some of the damage and then sent me home with a generous and complementary supply of products to help tame the frizz. Despite her best efforts, I still was really unhappy with my hair. I considered trying out a new salon, but couldn't imagine trusting my hair to anyone else. I contacted Head Games. Alanna made arrangements to see me that very day and gave me another complementary cut! I spent the rest of the afternoon happily tossing my hair around like some chic in a shampoo commercial...
