Editorial Review for Milestone Equestrian Center – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Here is your chance to get a little bit of the Old West right here in New England. In addition to English and Western saddle, you can learn roping here as well. This barn is owned by Cheryl Wadman, who has been teaching riding for more than 10 years. Her husband Matthew is the roping aficionado. Cheryl also rehabilitates racehorses. The center is small with just a barn and outdoor arena on one acre of land.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

Before the lesson, set aside 15 minutes for brushing and tacking the horse. You'll spend another 15 minutes after the lesson grooming the horse.

The Extras

This is a small, family-oriented barn where you're apt to meet Cheryl's parents or her young daughter roaming around.

milestone equestian is a wondeful place. The owener and the instructor of the barn is very personable, knowledable, and very down to earth. The barn is a show barn if you want. The horse are well cared for fed properly and they do get out.

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing

It is the smallest stable i have ever seen. They only have two decent horses and there is no turnout except for three 15x15 fields and horses only get 15 minutes. There is no grazing pastures except the yearling field which is still small and the lesson and private don't use it. There riding arena is too small and they have cats and dogs running around uncontrolled. There is only an outdoor arena so they stop riding in the middle of November and they start back up in March or April depending on the weather. It a horrible place to ride and there is no care for these poor horses. These people do not know anything about horses nor proper riding skills. Donot waste your time driving up there.

Pros: There are a few decent instructors.

Cons: Everything else.
