how can the reviews be so drastically different?. I tend to believe the negative review. The positive reviews seemed staged. I am entertaining a group this week from Munich. You can bet it won't be at this place!
clen courteous and consistent. been going to the green barn for years service is always excellent and so is the food. very good selection and specials all reasonably priced and most important super clean i dont think anybody would be disappointed with there value and quality. just one note reservations on weekends are a good idea because they are very busy.
I can't decide which was worse - the food, or the service....
This dining establishment's horrible food was only outshined in lack of quality, by the surly and often rude demeanor of all of the waitstaff (excluding the cheerful and smiling hostess). I was there for a relative's birthday party, and from the instant walking in the door, we were given the impression that they were doing us a favor by waiting on us.
The manager I assume (surly #1) snapped at my mother in-law for standing too close to the doorway, and that she might block all of the eager customers coming through, that were non-existant. We were the only customers there at the time, and now I understand why. Someone in our party had also asked to borrow a pen during the course of the meal, and our waitress (surly #2) had a look of complete disdain, and acted as if we had asked for her to co-sign a loan for us. We had a very large party, and one of the waitresses had offered the option of splitting the check, but upon hearing this, the manager (surly #1) scurried over and proceeded to make sure we knew this wasn't an option, and gave us the impression that it was even stupid for us to assume that it was.
Overall the food was terrible (asked for my steak to be medium, and it came out well done), my wife's potroast sandwich was soggy and tasteless, the potato dumplings were obviously frozen, and then reheated, and we were all made to feel like scolded children, not paying customers. The bill came to over $400 and not that it constitutes better treatment, but at least make sure you treat people as if they matter. I would have considered giving this place another try if I thought they were just on an off-night, but too many things were sub-par here, that it's not even worth the headache. Or stomach-ache.
Save your money for a bigmac, and a shake - at least the people behind the counter there might give you a smile, and thank you for your business.
Great Cuisine and Customer Service.
I dine here at least once a month and am never disappointed.
Great specials, great cuisine, great prices!
