Fast, friendly and pretty decent food--but it's local and local is always best. In regards to the comment that was in regards to the comment that spelled "awful" wrong: If you're going to critique someone's grammar, learn how to use a semicolon--YOU idiot. Also, if you're going to call something the "best", perhaps you should give it five stars. Again: YOU idiot. Moe's is good, basic, cheap and local. A great value; decent food. And, it's always fast--even for grammar-challenged idiots.
Moe's of Portsmouth is the Original and Best. In regards to the "Aweful" comment; It obviously wasn't the service at Moe's of Portsmouth, spell awful the right way idiot.
Quality ingredients, AWEFUL customer service!!. I've always loved Moe's sandwiches. . . until I visited the Portsmouth store! I live in central NH and visit the Concord store often. Wonderful, very friendly service and the food is SO yummy! My parents live on the seacoast, so, we went by the Portsmouth location for a sandwich. The girls working at the time couldn't be bothered with our presence! They were only half listening as we placed our order. Their menu isn't that complicated, but, they managed to mess my order up. I e-mailed a complaint to Moe's 'corporate headquarters' and the customer service rep. was mean and got defensive! Moe's aweful service at the Portsmouth shop has definately made me steer clear of this company for good.
salami sub dreams.... I grew up in Portsmouth, and my junior high used to have "Moe's Parties" instead of the traditional pizza parties. These basic subs are so good, you'll be back for more and more and more. I recently lived in Albany for a year, and the one food I missed most from back home was Moe's subs. They're not exactly gourmet, but high style is not needed to make something super tasty. I reccomend a bottle of Orangina to accompany your Moes...
It's tradition.
Moe's (which was only owned by a guy named Moe for one year about 50 years ago), was kept in business by the neighboring shipyard crew - who liked their sandwiches simple (salami), starchy (chewy sub rolls) and with all the fixins (peppers, onions, tomatos, pickles).
Meanwhile, Moe's is still in business and has branched out to offer more than the one sandwich that made them famous (and is still their best).
