Stuck on the patio, in the hot sun, hostage to the hostile manager! DANGER! DANGER!. Having traveled across the country to visit Portsmouth, we were eager to eat lunch on the water. We took the only remaining outside table for four- which seemed great for the first minute- until we realized we were directly in the only unshaded part of the patio, near the open trash, and in the path of the kitchen grill- the service was extremely slow, and within 25 minutes, no food and an empty patio later- we asked if we could move a table that had just left., right on the water and in the shade. The staff created a united and belligerent front- one waitress said we could move only if the other one said so, and she didn't want to switch; the manager refused to intervene on the principle that "pandemonium" might ensue, and considering that the patio was nearly empty and remained so through the rest of the meal- the lack of customer service was palpable. So disgusted were we by the delay and attitude that we asked to pay for our drinks, only to be told that we would be responsible for our order which, now 45 minutes later, was just coming up. The atmosphere was extremely hostile, the manager later defended herself with the unpardonable, "is it really worth getting this upset about?"- four people left furious and sure to tell eveyone- never, ever go there- the food is mediocre and might have been worth suffering through if it hadn't been destroyed by the insolence and outright rudeness of the staff. Customer Service? DID NOT EXIST!
Attitude Adjustment. The staff needs to realize that they're there to make the customers have a pleasant experience not detract from it. Way too much attitude from the employees, food quality is poor and the drinks are expensive. I would not recommend this place when there are so many other places in Portsmouth to enjoy
Real Mexican. Why go to Taco Bell to get mexican food when you can go to Poco's and get a reasonably priced plate and get the real deal . They have a great menu friendly staff and best of all their food is out of this world . Their menu items have a unique blend of spices which make it an experience you have never had before . I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did .
Overpriced Expiriment.
Poco's makes its moola on the decks in the summer - overpriced drinks and selective seating- killer combination. Friends have been turned away if they didn't "look" like they'd spend a lot of money.
They do have an excellent Sangria.
The menu is experimental - lobster quesadilla anyone? Didn't think so. The prices are high, and the service is spotty.
