Always stunning, always friendly.
I've been buying my flowers from A.G. since having a less than optimal experience at one of the "fancy" flower shops in Portsmouth. Basically, the one in question (and another one as well) look at you as though you're smelling funny if they know or even suspect you're spending less than $200.... Ambrosia Gardens, however, is always down to earth, and whether I've spent a lot of money or just a little (they once made me a very tiny bouquet in a pitcher I found at a yard sale for $12 or so!) they do lovely creative work and treat you like a friend.
I'm pretty creative, but I'm always pleasantly surprised by what they whip up! Today was my wife's b-day and since I was juggling our baby I didn't get a chance to call to have flowers delivered to her work 'til 11:30. They said they'd try to deliver by 2:30 which would've been ok, but the day is nearly over... my wife texted me about an hour later that she'd received the arrangement and it was amazing! Thanks, guys!
Completely Amazed!.
When my brother passed away, my family and I were looking for a unique shop to do the flowers. After discussing some ideas with the owner, she created the most amazing pieces! They were simple in colors, but rich in texture and the quality of the flowers were outstanding! I now use Ambrosia for all of my floral occasions. My impossible to please grandmother is bowled over by the flowers every time I get her an arrangement. The flowers always last on average 1 to 2 weeks and look fabulous. The staff always bends over backwards to help. I have witnessed on many occasions, while ordering flowers, the personable nature of everyone that works there. I feel at home when I walk in the door there! They even let me bring in my dogs and make them feel at home too!
I 100% recommend Ambrosia Gardens to anyone looking for flowers!
Dissappointed - twice.
My sister ordered me a $100 bouquet from out of town. Her florist went through Ambrosia Gardens. The arrangement was not as requested and was extremely small/unimpressive for $100. When my sister complained, Ambrosia called me say they wanted to pick up the original. They then replaced it with another similar, sparce arrangement. While both bouquets were attractive, they looked more like something that would cost 30-40 dollars, at most. Even the container was just an inexpensive basket that you might buy at Michael's for under 5 dollars.
So, I would say that Ambrosia Gardens overcharges for their product and if you want to 'wow' someone with an expensive bouquet, try somewhere else.
outstanding. simply magical , most fresh and gorgeous flowers ever. they did a friends' wedding, and an aquaintences wedding also. shop is unique, interesting and wonderful. Even going in to buy a single bloom is a nice experience. Everyone who works there is extremely kind and pleasant. cool art on the walls.
